Peace March, PDX

Today Moon and I took part in an amazing gathering of anti-war protesters, pro-peace people and lots of amazing positivity and good vibes. I hear there was some pockets of negativity, but that we did not witness.

Getting ready to get on the MAX downtown

Meeting up with some cool mama's from Mothering!

This fancy guy on stilts

Huge doves, there were 3 (I think)

"Rapture in not an exit strategy". Some people are so smart!
That sign is the winner.
And the Iran guy and his pal next to him were protesting peace. The guy holding the Iran sign was wearing a full face mask, which I found to be ironic. Or something.
Nanny gave Moon a special "do"

St. Patrick's Day dinner at Nanny's

Nan, Great-grandpa and Mamaw! Plus a cranky Mooner :)

Emma's 1st Birthday!

She actually turned one on Friday, and we celebrated on Saturday.
Isn't she the sweetest thing ever?

These cake pictures are the best. Yummy carrot cake!

Moon and Em played a bit together and had a grand ol' time. Em tried to take Moon's glasses. Classic!

Patching Day 5

In the yard, having a tea party without tea!

Wonderful Erin!
Mooner wore her patch for a full two hours, no fuss. Big day around here...

Patch Day 4

Mooner wore her patch for an hour today. I wish it were two, but that's ok.

Patching, Day 2

Today Moon wore her patch for a full 2 hours! An incredible turn around from the day before's 15 minutes + hysteria. The down side was that she wouldn't wear her glasses. But progress is progress...

Butter making stage 2!

The buttermilk and butter have separated now
(after about 30 minutes, or so)

Awesome, isn't it?

Buttermilk (unsoured, since we didn't let the cream sit out on the counter)

Butter!

Making butter with our raw cream!
We started out with a quart of raw cream into the kitchenaid on low

Here it is starting to thicken, like whipped cream should

Thicker still, just like "cooking for engineers" said is should!

See how is shrunk back down? It's about to to separate.
I have to post the rest in another post...

Kookolan Farm!!!

We met the 3 beautiful milking Jersey's
This one was a 4-H cow, so she really is friendly. And preggers!

Triplet goat kids!
Soo many sweet goats, pregnant nanny goats and one goat in labor :)

Moon running in to get the milk!
You can see some chickens in the background. There were MANY of those around.

Yep, cheese.

Wild antics in Seaside. That Papa chasing game is The funnest game. Ever.

Rockaway Beach
We had so much fun stomping in the "bubbles"

Carving in the wall

We finally got one pair of glasses in! Moon has been wearing them pretty much all day, after many tears at the optician's office.
