And The Kids!

Olive Girl came wandering into my kitchen a few days ago.

Sleepy Lan, on our way home from a walk.
Moon's first bubble tea! She got green tea with pineapple jellys. No bubbles, so technically not bubble tea, but they didn't have the ingredients for the tapioca balls and I just wasn't sure if they were Mooner-safe.

So cute! Isn't this the end of April though? Poor Lan, in a snowsuit just to go on a walk.

Mooner trying to console an overstimulated Lan.

He loves her SO MUCH! She joined him on the play gym, he liked looking at her more than the silly parrot toy.
Another Set of Moon Shots

The bathroom, from the potty

The toilet paper roll. Notice the black zip-tie on the spindle? That goes to her step up to the potty, to prevent misuse of said step

This is her finger over the lens

This is her shoe on the chained up step

I love that Mooner takes pics of me and Lan. Otherwise I would have none :)
Chickies

The chicks on their first night out in the coop. Of course it was so cold (35 degrees F)that we had to wrap the coop in tarps, put their brooding box on its side under the light and give them some hay to sleep in.

There was one brave chick outside of the box when we first went to check on them at about 11PM.
All huddled together

Follow the leader, a warmer way to snuggle I suppose

Sometimes I am just burnt on the world. Other times, I feel hope and like I am capable of making change happen. Please read my blog post over on the "wordy blog" ;)
Chicken pics later!

Hard Work.

I am doing the hardest spiritual work of my life right now. And I don't see it slowing down for a long time. I got out of the shower and asked P to cut off a ponytail of my hair. It took about 30 seconds and a couple of trimming snips to take off 10 inches of hair and some old vibes that were literally and metaphorically entangled in it. Feels good and I wanted to share it with all of you.

Jess with about a pound less hair! I will probably go have someone cut it all nicely with some layers or something, but this will do for now.

Beach Photo's, round 2

3 kids, 2 adults. Massive amounts of baggage.

Moon getting O to drink the bathwater. gross.

Sweet kids headed to the pool. Moon refuses to wear a suit (big tantrum, proclamations of horror), so she borrows Owen's trunks. Once we get down to the pool, she refuses to get in and has another wild tantrum, begging to go home and see Papa. We go back to the hotel room. Thanks for the drama Moon. My life would be incomplete with out it :)

These phones were such a hit! I think we may need a set at home.

Who is this kid? Oh, Lanny. Right. He was sleeping or in the pouch carrier the whole time. He was a trouper, made it through lots of drama happy as a clam. Here he was watching the big kids in the bath. Soon you will be able to join them sweet boy!

Moon's photography skills

Moon has taken to photography lately. She took over 80 pictures in the last 2 days. Here are some that demonstrate her skillz.

Baby Boo, chillin. If you look close, you will see the dolly has paper sunglasses on.
Lovely reality-scape here, don't you think?
(and you better believe I am totally embarrassed to post this, but it's a clever shot!)

Chicken Update

Brave chicken to stay in Moon's hands. The others just flew off when put into her hands.

New Coop! Thanks Nan and Papou for coming down to build this fancy palace. Moon calls it a castle. Patrick plans on living in there when he gets kicked out of the house. Glad they each have an affection for it :)

Trip to the Beach!

The wonderful mama Adrienne invited the kids and I to the beach with her and Owen. The first night the kids had a blast, running into the ocean, digging in the sand, freezing their buns off in the wind.
These first couple of pictures are with my phone camera, so they are awful, but still get the point across.

Then dinner was had. Sort of.
It is so much fun to play telephone with hotel phones

Mooner riding the bunny at the carousel mall. Last year they had to stop the carousel for her to get off. Glad she could deal with it this year!
We had to leave the next day because Moon was having so many meltdowns. Not sure what it was all about, but she really wanted to go home and see papa. Of course, when we were home she talked about how windy the beach was, but she wanted to go see Owie again. Sorry sister!
Adrienne took a few pictures, so there may be a beach post #2 later :)

oh, and poor Lanny was there, he was just snuggled into a carrier the whole time!

Chickie Day!!!

Landon and I went to get our new pets today. We ended up getting 5 chicks. 2 Arcauna's, 1 Barred Rock (I think!), 1 Golden Lace (I think!) and 1 Black Sexlink. They are very cute and Moon is especially enamored of them.
And more pictures...

We are considering a haircut for reasons like this...

PTFO Lanny.

Lanny in his "station"
He is often happy here, until the Moon takes his binky or gives him some extra special pushes in the swing. sigh.
The Sleepover!

Moon and Amelia had their first real sleepover!
Aunt Holly, my dear childhood friend, and her sweet girl Amelia came to visit and just for fun (and old times sake) we all decided to sleep in the big family bed, while Papa slept on the couch. The girls did great, eventually falling asleep after much giggling and wild-animal time.
Getting sleepy?
No way!
It is so wonderful and very special to see our two children play together. We are so fortunate and have lots to be thankful for.

I am terribly behind in blogging! Trying to be present with my children and stay on top of this disaster pile of a house are not allowing for lots of time to blog, believe it or not. But I miss it and think it's important, so here I go.
Landon is changing so much this last week. Today he rolled over from his tummy to his back, he slept for over 5 hours straight and was awake for longer periods. He is really becoming aware of what is going on around him. He has started crying when I sneeze, which is so sweet and heartbreaking at the same time. Speaking of heartbreaking, Moon is also growing up so quickly. She has dropped a lot of her babytalk and is using the correct words for things now, like sandwich instead of "shoppy", nurse instead of "dee dee". She is also really challenging us with her will and bringing out some of our most embarrassing personality traits. short-temper mama should be my name these days :(
Look for some pictures posted soon too!

A few Lanny shots so you all can see how quickly he is growing.

Happy Birthday Papa!
(one day late)

Party hats and kisses. Perfect birthday gift.
