More pictures from the last week

Nanny carrying sick Lanny around. She spent a lot of time in this position. Thanks Nan.
Moon catching snowflakes

Isn't it the end of March?

Landon and his milky-friend Kai. They are only 6 days apart. Sweet friends, so early on!
and finally,
the strangest picture I have ever taken.
Moon is at Nanny's dining table, there is a booze box for packing and an elk sculpture waiting to be packed. Moon was, just moments before using that dental-mirror to look at the cats teeth, but she clawed at Moon, causing the upset you see. Moon is also wearing Papou's reading glasses. So Strange...

I have started a new blog to post about the journey I have been on considering our reality here on this planet, in this time, in this country, in this particular subculture that I am a part of in Portland as a mother who tries to live consciously and gently. You all are welcome to join me there for wordy posts and see us here for the photo heavy posts :)

Easter Celebrations

Annual egg hunt with cousin Bridgey.
This year we went to Great-Gram and Papa's house in Randle the day before Easter. Moon and Landon were both still really sick, but we really wanted Landon to get to meet the rest of the family, so into the car the kids went.

Easter day we were at Nanny and Papou's house for another egg-hunt. I have no pictures of Landon because he was really sick, but Moon was feeling well enough to egg hunt and watch some dvd's the bunny brought her.

On Thursday, Landon smiled at me for the first time! So Friday while I was taking some video of him, he decided to smile for all of you. This is probably the cutest thing you will see all day :)

checking in...

Easter celebration in Randle. Me, kids, Papa Mike and Great Papa in the background.
The kids are STILL sick :( This is a terrible bug they have got, but we are hanging in there. We went up to Tacoma to Nanny and Papou's to help them pack, but I think I am getting lots of help with sick kids too!!!

Hooray for the 6 week photo!
Thanks, Lisa :)

The kids are so sick! Moon has never had a fever like this. Going on 5 days of this nasty bug. I was really hoping she would be 100% by today so we could leave for Easter weekend, but she is definitely not better. Looks like Saturday morning we will be leaving. I am really hoping she feels better! Landon has the cold too, but no fever, thank goodness.

6 Weeks Old!
What an amazing baby you are, sweet boy! Last night we were lying in bed and you spent 5 minutes just looking at me and me you! I am so in love with you and your very very gentle ways. You are so sensitive to funny things, like having a wet diaper (but who can blame you) and not to other things, like you sisters loud screeches! You have your second cold (!) and are so hating the nose sucker, aka: bulb syringe. You still love the binky and being bounced on the big exercise ball. You still do not love the camera, especially the flash. And of all the days to miss my first photo of you, it was today! No 6 week picture from mama, however, my friend Lisa did come over and take a picture of you. We will see if it turned out and if I can get it from her.

Owen was just dying to 'nuggle baby Landon, so he had a go at it on Tuesday. This was about the cutest thing ever seen. He did a great job and Landon was very happy to be held by this cool big kid.

6 week check-up
Landon had his 6 week check-up (a couple of days early) today. He is doing great! 10lbs, 4 oz. I keep meaning to take out Moon's records to compare the two, but I suppose there has been enough of that going on anyhow! How do you avoid comparing your children??? I know that it isn't great for them, but it is so crazy how wildly different 2 little people from the same 2 people can be!

St. Patrick's Day!
Here in the Callahan-Roy house, we certainly celebrated St. Patty's Day as any good Irish family should have. I made Corned Beef (meat to feel pretty good about. Nitrate-free healthy cow brisket from our favorite market), cabbage, potatoes and carrots, all cooked in a pot filled with Murphy's Irish Stout.

Then Landon had his First Bath!
He was so happy and so calm. It was wonderful to just enjoy his peace in the water. We stayed in nearly 30 minutes, until the water started to get cool. A water-carrying Aquarius is certainly apt.

of course big sissy got right on in
He is totally enthralled with her like this most of the time!

Mr. Big Eyes

He is just so beautiful. He melts my heart.

Finally out of the tub, wrapped up and cuddling with Papa.

Earlier in the day, this was the scene in the play room...
My favorite part about this is that Moon and Owie had ran out of things to take down/out and so they settled for reading these fun flashcards. The destruction had to end at some time, I guess! What a good play pal (partner in crime???) that sweet Owen is!

The 16th

I have to be honest, I don't know how long I will be able to keep up taking Landon's picture everyday. But as long as I do, they will keep coming onto this blog. A lot of them aren't titled by date, but the date/s are usually in the Label section.

Trip to Nan and Papou's Part 2

Moon by her special tree.
I am feeling a little sad that this is probably the last picture Moon will get by her placenta tree before Nan and Papou move.

Moon drying the cat after the cat went looking for a mouse. Moon insisted on looking for mice outside as well. She is such a funny little girl!

Uncle Jared came to the rescue when Nan and Papou went out. Cute, right? :)

Moon having her first "coffee". Rice milk, a bit of xylitol and a dash of decaf. Fancy!

Landon meets his great-grandparents! He slept for most of their visit, but woke in the end to charm them.
Trip to Nanny's, part 1

The night before leaving. Why must I be swaddled so tightly???
The next day, finally at Nan and Papou's house. Happy baby.

Bright and early outdoor rocking session with Nanny

Lots of time like this too!
A couple of days worth

More time relaxing on the floor cushion

Wild Horse Rider!

Fuss

Cry
New diaper and then...

Sleep!
A Mooner post!

First time holding baby brother
Riding in the carrier, about to go on a walk with Papa and Mama
Landon's One-Month Birthday!

No pictures today. I am a week behind! How did that happen? Anyhow, Landon is 5 weeks old today and continues to sleep so much and generally hang out with us! We are so lucky to have such a sweet sweet baby. Mooner had her first trip to the dentist yesterday. It went OK, she was not traumatized and in fact, had fun! She fed some gerbils and did some teeth brushing. She has a couple of big cavities that they will fill in about a year. Maybe sooner if they think she is ready. Very cool dental office!
